First off here is the rule for Matrix multiplication:
RULE: if Amn is to be multiplied by Bpq....then the 'inner dementions must be equal....n=p.
This is what you need to solve:
A= (6 ) and B= ( 3 5 -8)
(3 )
(-3)
To start get out your calculator. Turn it on, then press 2nd and then Matrix. Hit the arrow button until the EDIT button is high lighted then hit enter on the 1: line with the [A]. Put the demensions of A into the [A]. In this case A is 3 x 1. So put you number into the sequence like the way they are in the question..which is 6, 3, and -3. Once the number are entered in hit 2nd QUIT, then go back into 2nd Matrix then over to EDIT, then go B this time. This time B is a 1 x 3, and enter in 3, 5 ,and -8. Go back to the 2nd then Matrix, but instead of going to EDIT, this time go to NAMES, and hit enter on line A. Then press the times button, and go back by hitting 2nd Matrix and go down to B and hit enter. Then you should have [A]x[B] on you calculator screen, then hit enter and you should have the answer.
[A]x[B]
[18 30 -48]
[18 30 -48]
[-9 -15 24]
